Native New Zealand Mānuka

Your native Mānuka honey is produced by healthy bees who collect the nectar of the New Zealand Mānuka tree, a species native to Aotearoa New Zealand. Our hives are placed in remote regions where bees have access to dense surrounding forests of Mānuka, far from any city or town.

Quality and Testing

Kaimai Gold takes great care of your Mānuka honey throughout each step. From collection to packaging to distribution. We operate comprehensive quality management systems, such as a Government certified Risk Management Programme (RMP). Each batch of honey is tested by independent and verified laboratories to ensure it meets rigorous New Zealand Government standards that exceed international expectations.

Kaimai Gold is produced in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at the foot of the Kaimai Range, near Matamata, New Zealand. Our advanced production and packaging facilities ensure a quality and reliable supply of honey that meet your needs.

Potency and Purity - UMF and MGO

Unique Mānuka Factor (UMF) is a grading system that measures key naturally occurring chemicals found in Mānuka honey. The UMF mark provides complete confidence of the quality and purity of a batch of honey.

The UMF mark consists of multiple chemical markers, including but not limited to Leptosperin and Methylglyoxal (MGO). Kaimai Gold is a member of the UMF Honey Association of New Zealand, an independent body that comprises the majority of authentic Mānuka honey producers.

Methylglyoxal (MGO) is a compound naturally found in Mānuka honey. It is used as a key marker for the measure of potency.

Traceability

How do I trace my batch?

As of May 2020, every Kaimai Gold Mānuka honey product can be individually traced for guaranteed authenticity. We pride ourselves on the transparency of our honey’s origin, source and journey to our customers. A unique QR code can be found on the side of each jar or sachet box detailing the honey’s origin. By hovering over the QR code with a smartphone camera, you can directly confirm the authenticity of the honey and download the UMF Certificate.
